The Mill

A mill is a place where raw material is worked into finished goods by machines that stay in one place while the work moves through them. That is the shape of Thuron Mill: six tools, each owning one station on the line, with measured rates on the fleet’s health metrics alongside. The names are not decoration — a tenter is the frame in a mill where cloth is stretched to dry, which is where “on tenterhooks” comes from, and a reeve was the officer who answered for the work getting done.
